Viktoria Petryk became the first Ukrainian to reach the podium positions, finishing second in 2008 with Matrosy (‘Sailors’).
Her sister, Anastasiya Petryk, went one better in 2012 winning the Contest with her ballad Nebo (‘Sky’).
Kyiv became the first city to host Junior Eurovision on two occasions, in 2009 and 2013; both times saw Timur Miroshnychenko co-host the show.
