Born in Reggio Calabria on May 22nd 2000,fifteen year old sisters Chiara and Martina Scarpari showed a natural love of music since their early childhood.

Chiara and Martina’s singing talent was noticed first by their grandfather, who five years ago encouraged them to follow their passion. Three years later they met their mentor, Christian Cosentino, who raised the bar even higher and encouraged them to sing and compete on an international level.

After the victories in some local contests, in 2014 Chiara and Martina debuted on the Rai1 prime time talent show for teens ‘Ti lascio una canzone.’ After two winning nights, they qualified for the final night and earned third place.

The twins released their first single, ‘Sempre insieme,’ and represented Italy at the New Wave Junior contest, where they were the runners-up, missing victory by only one point. In December 2014 Chiara and Martina were invited to Moscow, where they performed with the renowned Cuban singer Roberto Kel Torres.

This year, their success continued; performing again on Rai1 and being invited back to New Wave Junior 2015 as special guests. They then won the Italian National Final for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, and are competing with their second single ‘Viva,’ written together with the best-selling artist Gigi D’Alessio.

‘Viva’ is about the dreams of the teens, their first love and new emotions. But it is also the sweet memories of their grandfather, who was the first to #discover their talent. “Remembering our grandad is the verse we like the most,” the twins explain. “It’s only a few words, but it means a lot to both of us and we know that he is still here with us.”

Chiara and Martina hope to do their very best in Bulgaria. “After winning the national final the affection of the people overwhelmed us: it’s like an army of fans that we didn’t expect to have. We must do our best for them too: we’d like to have fun and to make them have fun as well!”

Lyrics of Viva

Can't wait for tomorrow having the world in my hands a love that matters a wave in my dreams we have everywhere to fly but we still don't know where to go Life is an ocean spinning around us day and night and the sun inside us Viva the hopes that you don't let go Viva the songs you don't know how to sing our dreams the mistakes of our youth Viva the first kiss that makes you quiver Viva that tear that tastes like salt saturday night Viva your boy band Viva the kindness of grandfather who is now up there Viva the kite that I have lost in the sky Laughing hard until it hurts Feeling mature to travel listening what your heart says studying english Life is right here now for us Viva that sunset that makes you dream viva the highway bringing you home our horizon the shape of our soul viva that thing you can't understand viva that summer that doesn't want to end Viva Love Viva freedom Viva the nights around a bonfire viva your first boyfriend Viva the lies you cannot tell and the secret you cannot keep Viva getting out school waiting for the weekend Live for all that you will remember one day live, because time flies and never stops
