Manw will represent Wales at the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Minsk with the song 'Perta'.
Manw is 14 years old and has the honour of being the first participant from Wales to participate in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. She is from Rhostryfan, North Wales, and studies at a Welsh medium Comprehensive School.
She started performing when she was only two years old in front of her mom and dad in the living room with a toy piano and a microphone. She performed in public for the first time when she was 4 years of age at the Urdd Eisteddfod (the annual Welsh language youth festival of literature, music and performing arts). She continues to compete there annually in the singing and recital competitions. The first time Manw competed at the Eisteddfod in the solo for pupils up to Year 2, the adjudicator smiled and told her she had a pretty voice and encouraged her to keep singing. Her life-long dream is to perform on the big stage, she loves to sing and dance and her favourite film is The Greatest Showman, for obvious reasons.
Although her main passion is to perform, Manw also loves taking sports lessons at her School. Sport is her favourite subject and she adores playing football with her friends during lessons. Cross-country running makes Manw feel happy as she loves being outside in the fresh air. And with years of skiing experience, Manw has a wonderful time going on holiday to Switzerland with her mum, dad and brothers Arawn and Telor.
As experiences go, Manw’s Eurovision journey has been a completely different and amazing experience. Working with Tara Bethan as her mentor throughout the series, she’s gained confidence and really enjoys dancing and performing for the camera. Manw is proud to be representing Wales for the first time ever at the Eurovision Song Contest and cannot wait to fly the Flag in Minsk.
