Sweden is one of the sixteen countries to have made their debut at the inaugural Junior Eurovision in 2003, which took place in Copenhagen.

Despite being one of the most successful countries in the grown-up Contest (winning a record equalling 7 times), Sverige has yet to win the Junior competition.

Their most successful entry to date is Molly Sandén’s Det Finaste Någon Kan Få (‘The Finest Anyone Can Get’), which finished third in 2006.

Molly (using the stage name My Marianne) went on to provide vocals for the song Husavik (My Hometown) from the 2020 film Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, which received a nomination for Best Original Song at the 93rd Academy Awards.
