Rádio e Televisão de Portugal (RTP) made their debut at the Junior Eurovision that took place in Bucharest in 2006.

Their first participant was Pedro Madeira who took his song Deixa-me Sentir (‘Let Me Feel’) to 14th place.

The best Portuguese result so far came courtesy of Victoria Nicole who finished second at Madrid 2024 with her ballad Esperança. 

Portugal has yet to win Junior Eurovision but let’s hope they don’t equal their Eurovision Song Contest record for the most Contest appearances without a victory - over 53 years!
