Rádio e Televisão de Portugal (RTP) made their debut at the Junior Eurovision that took place in Bucharest in 2006.

Their first participant was Pedro Madeira who took his song Deixa-me Sentir (‘Let Me Feel’) to 14th place.

The best Portuguese result so far came courtesy of Nicolas Alves who’s rock anthem Anos 70 finished 8th. 

Portugal has yet to win Junior Eurovision but let’s hope they don’t equal their Eurovision Song Contest record for the most Contest appearances without a victory - over 53 years!
