Romania participated in consecutive Junior Eurovision from the first Contest in 2003 until 2009.

Bubu was their debut participant with the track Tobele Sunt Viața Mea (‘Drums Are My Life’), placing a respectable 10th.

Their best result to date is courtesy of Noni Răzvan Ene, who came fourth with Îți Mulțumesc (‘I Thank You’).

Broadcaster Romanian Television (TVR) hosted the fourth Contest in the capital Bucharest, which was won by Russia’s Tolmachevy Twins.
