Sofia Tarasova: singing is my priority!

An official audio version of Sofia’s song “We Are One” has been released recently and now she is busy polishing her stage performance with her choreographer. Her stage performance will not have any other dancers so that the focus remains on her strong vocals.   The main message behind her song 'We Are One' is the integration of Man with Nature: people and nature can't be separated.

This twelve year old girl with the fantastic voice started singing from two-and-a-half years old.  A friend of Sofia's mother, who taught at a music college in Kyiv, heard Sofia singing and invited her to audition. Once accepted to the college, she eagerly took classes in a group of talented children.  All of her relatives noticed Sofia's love of music but nobody could imagine that ten years' later she would be representing Ukraine at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest!   

Sofia loves the 'Be Creative!' theme of this year's event and likes to indulge in all kinds of creativity herself including painting, short movie-making and acting in the theatre. She likes to paint landscapes and still life, mainly in oils or gouache, and would like to learn how to paint professionally in the future. But, now because of being busy with preparation for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest final, she assures us that she will put the paints down as singing is her priority!

Despite being busy these days, Sofia always finds time for listening to her favourite singers like Adam Lambert, Alicia Keys, Alex Clare, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Christina Aguilera, Emeli Sande, Jessie J, Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, Kenny West, Lana Del Rey, Maroon 5, Mariah Carey, Olly Murs, Rihanna, Usher and of course, Zlata Ognevich, the Ukrainian representative at the Eurovision Song Contest earlier this year and our charming co-host for Junior Eurovision in Kyiv.

Sofia cannot imagine her life without music. She wants to continue practicing and developing her singing skills and abilities. Whether this talented young lady will combine her future singing with making films, painting and acting at the theatre or just choose singing to be her main occupationis a question for later, but there's no question that her life will be full of creativity.
