Gaia Cauchi is eleven years old and started her singing career when she was only two and half. She is no stranger to singing contests, having received the International Achievement Award at the Malta Music Awards this year and triumphing at the prestigious Italian song festival Sanremo in her category last year.

In 2012 she was chosen to participate amongst the best selection at the Italian Lab Talent and once again blew everyone's socks off! In April, her song Noti U Kliem was adapted and recorded in Italy.

Malta is returning after two years of absence to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, having missed out the Yerevan and Amsterdam editions. Malta’s best placing in the contest was in 2008 with Daniel Testa and his song Junior Swing which finished fourth.
