Portugal’s Junior Eurovision participant Júlia Machado has revealed her song 'Where I Belong'.

The lyrics describe a journey and the uncertainties and risks that the search for a better place can involve; it's the story of someone who lives in a dark and sad place who tries to find a brighter life.

Júlia Machado has spoken about her own experiences of being bullied, and hopes that this song will be taken as a 'shout in solidarity' with everyone who is going through a similar situation.

Where I Belong is written by Fernando Daniel, João Direitinho, Aurora Pinto and Luís 'Twins' Pereira.

The 12 year old singer lives in New Jersey and is the winner of The Voice Kids 2023. Despite living abroad she loves her home country, Portugal, and visits with her family every summer.

In her free time she’s involved with theatre and particularly enjoys singing, putting her vocals to use at the Count Basie Theatre in New Jersey, and at the Portuguese Club of Long Branch. One of her favourite songs is Andorinhas by Ana Moura.

Junior Eurovision 2023 took place in Nice, France on Sunday 26 November and was won by Zoé Clauzure from France! You can rewatch it live via the official Junior Eurovision YouTube channel (if available in your country).
