Armenia’s Betty (Elizabeth Danielyan) has a personality as bright and energetic as the song she’ll present in Malta, “People of the Sun”. She’s only eleven years old, but Betty is already an experienced television presenter, performer, and student of voice and dance, all while balancing her duties in school.
Betty's road to Malta
“People of the Sun” was selected on September 14th via a televised national final on ARMTV, hosted by 2011 Junior Eurovision co-host, and Head of the Armenian Delelgation, Gohar Gasparyan. It was a closely-fought show, with ten fantastic songs all vying for the right to represent Armenia this November, but it was Betty who took the win, shedding tears of joy as she sang her winner’s reprise while surrounded by her fellow competitors.
About the song
Betty’s song, which she wrote and composed with the help of Mane Hakobyan, Avet Barseghyan and Martin Mirzoyan, is all about the joy and optimism of being a child:
“People of the sun, cheerful and happy
Our souls have endless sun
The Land of sun, smile and sing,
Embrace us with your arms,
Warm like childhood ”
On stage
Early stage plans suggest a sunshine and colourful theme to the presentation, several props, and one "wow" element sure to surprise you! With her song, which will be performed in English and Armenian, Betty hopes that all of the children of the world can look forward to a peaceful, positive, and loving future…#together!
