On 8 July 2020, German public broadcasters NDR and ZDF have announced they are looking for talented youngsters between the age of 9 and 14 to represent Germany for the very first time at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Germany is the 40th country in the history of the contest to make its debut.

Germany has a very long history when it comes to Eurovision events. They were one of the first countries to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest when it started in 1956. Over 65 years later, they have now also joined the Contests younger sibling.



Susan is the first-ever participant for Germany after she was announced during the national selection show KiKA LIVE: Junior Eurovision Song Contest – Das Casting.
