Azerbaijan debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2012, the same year that the Eurovision Song Contest was held in the capital Baku.

To date Azerbaijan has only participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest twice, in 2012 and 2013. Their best placing to date was seventh in 2013 with the song Me And My Guitar.
