Gianluca Cilia represented Malta in the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the song 'Dawra Tond'. Today we look back at the young singer's week in Tbilisi.

It became apparent from an early age that Gianluca had a passion for singing. He would sing along to any tune on the radio and would entertain anyone with his joyful soul and passionate singing. He showed a real interest at the age of 6, when he started singing and had music theory lessons.

Gianluca's entry for Junior Eurovision was called Dawra Tond, which means turning around and round. It is a song which depicts unity and positive energy. Dawra Tond also makes references to popular traditional Maltese rhymes.

Before Gianluca headed to Tbilisi he answered a series of quick-fire questions. Check it out below!

In Tbilisi we invited Gianluca into our Junior Eurovision studio to participate in our Challenge Wheel game. Gianluca and his backing dancers re-created various different emojis - watch the fun video below!

Malta won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest twice in the space of three years between 2013 and 2015. The 2016 edition of the competition was held in Valletta's Mediterranean Conference Centre.
