Opening Ceremony Postponed

14 November 2015 at 17:41 CET

As Bulgaria is also taking part in the three days of mourning declared by French President Francois Hollande, it has been decided by host broadcaster BNT, together with Executive Supervisor Vladislav Yakovlev, to postpone tomorrow's Opening Ceremony. Due to the period of mourning, BNT is required not to broadcast any entertainment shows across its network.

Director General of BNT, Viara Ankova, said "The Bulgarian national television expresses its deep condolences and support in this hard moment for the people of France. Love and tolerance between people are the values the Eurovision Song Contest is based on. These are also the values which unite all public broadcasters in Europe."

Vladislav Yakovlev, Executive Supervisor of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, added that "The running order draw will still take place tomorrow (Sunday), so that the production team can begin working on the show. The participants will still draw their halves of the running order, just that this will take place now separately from the red carpet ceremony and in a different place."

What about the running order draw?

The running order draw will take place tomorrow, Sunday, in a smaller event for Delegations only. The process for the draw will not change from what was previous announced, and the running order will be made known here on JuniorEurovision.tv tomorrow evening. This will also allow the production team to finalise the show script, etc.

Media are kindly informed that there will not be space for them to attend the running order draw, however they will be invited to the Opening ceremony next week.
