16 March 2017 at 12:00 CET
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the Georgian Public Broadcaster, GPB, have today confirmed that the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place on Sunday 26th November. The competition will be held in the Tbilisi Sports Palace, located in the heart of the city.

11 year old Mariam Mamadashvili triumphed for Georgia in November last year in Valetta, with her powerful performance of Mzeo. Earlier this year the EBU and GPB revealed that as last year’s winners GPB were given first option to host the 2017 competition, and they have agreed.

Georgia has won Junior Eurovision a record three times but this is the first time that the event will be held in the country. This week the Steering Group of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest met in the Georgian capital Tbilisi to discuss the logistics behind the upcoming contest. Further details regarding tickets, presenters and interval acts will be announced later this year.
