Introducing 2015: Everyone loves MIKA

29 October 2015 at 12:52 CET

This marks Armenia’s first internal selection since 2007, and the first time that a male soloist has represented the nation at Junior Eurovision since 2010, when Vladimir Arzumanyan won the contest with “Mama”.

About the artist

12-year-old MIKA (Michael Varosyan) is already a seasoned performer. He represented his homeland at the “Slavianski Bazaar” competition in Belarus last year, coming in third place, and he won a number of prizes at the “Golden Sparkles” contest in Varna, Bulgaria. He had previously competed three times for the chance to sing for Armenia at Junior Eurovision, and as he says himself, “the fourth time was the lucky charm”! Between his musical career and his studies, MIKA also appears on the television show “Puzzle”.

About the song

Joined on stage by three backing singers with a fully choreographed routine, MIKA’s song “Love” is a bouncy, high-energy song in Armenian and English. It is about finding joy (and, of course, love!) in the world around us, and how something as simple as a smile can change one’s whole perspective on life.

Once again I’ve freed my mind of negative thoughts,
And I’ve found the secret of happiness.
It’s strange, how people live without smiling!
