With her song ‘The Spirit of Music', Sophia Ivanko will represent Ukraine. This is 'Going to Gliwice', our feature counting down to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 on Sunday 24 November in Gliwice-Silesia, Poland.

Sophia's song The Spirit of Music contains a message that everyone can find their inner strength with the help of music. Sophia: "Music has incredible transforming power. It is a universal key to inner happiness. If any problems cause you distress, you can bring up your internal energy by singing the melody that comes from your heart."

The Spirit of Music was written by Sophia Ivanko and composed by Sophia Ivanko and Mykhailo Tolmachov.

About Sophia

Sophia is a singer, songwriter and artist who hopes that people will remember her after performing on stage in Gliwice-Silesia. The 13-year-old has been singing since she was 4 and started her professional career at age 10. She writes her own songs and performs them either solo or together with her older brother on guitar. When Sophia took part in The Voice Kids, she was on Eurovision 2016 winner Jamala’s team.

The young singer is looking forward to making new friends in Poland, learning different cultures and having an unforgettable experience. "It is also a wonderful opportunity for me to present my creativity to people from other countries and to perform on such a big stage. When I first saw the stage layout, it took my breath away.
