Darina Krasnovetska from Ukraine goes to Junior Eurovision 2018

With the song 'Say Love', Darina Krasnovetska has won the Ukrainian national selection for the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. She will represent the country in Minsk, Belarus on 25 November.

Darina Krasnovetska is 11 years old. She has been taking singing classes for more than 5 years. In 2016, she participated in The Voice Kids in Ukraine and she won the Black Sea Games twice. Darina has many hobbies like painting, travelling, contemporary dancing and playing the piano. She dreams of becoming a popular singer, so participating in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest is an important step for her to achieve that dream.

Darina was selected by a professional jury, with due regard to an advisory online vote of the Ukrainian audience. The professional jury consisted of:

  • Maria Burmaka (singer, jury chairperson)
  • Taras Topolia (lead singer of Antytila band)
  • Oleksandra Koltsova (singer and member of the Managing Board at UA:PBC)
  • Sofia Kutsenko (singer, Junior Eurovision 2014 participant as part of Sympho-Nick)
  • LAUD (singer and composer, finalist of the national Eurovision 2018 selection)

The shortlist of 10 finalists from which Darina was picked:

  • Sofiia Ivanko – Chomu? (Why?)
  • Darina Krasnovetska – Say Love
  • The Sparks – We Are Part of This
  • Denys Rodin – Batky (Parents) 
  • Yaryna Taras – Soniachnyi bit (Sun Beat)
