Speaking in Ta’Qali Mr. Attard, who is the CEO of PBS and one of the key organisers for the 2014 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, told the gathered press how important the event is for Malta: “As you have seen this weekend, Eurovision is a big deal in Malta, and we are looking forward to hosting Junior Eurovision big time!”

“This weekend’s shows have been a kind of ‘dress rehearsal’ for what we want to do in Junior Eurovision” he added, and finished by saying “I can promise you a big show in November”.

The Malta Eurovision Song Contest was notable for containing two former Junior Eurovision partcipants in the final. Both Daniel Testa and Sophie DeBattista made it through the semifinal, with Daniel finishing third and Sophie 11th. We spoke to both singers about their memories of Junior Eurovision, and will be publishing their interviews - along with a couple of surprise videos - soon.
