Armenia - Junior Eurovision's success story

09 December 2016 at 17:00 CET
Since Armenia made its debut in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest the country has gone on to become one of the most successful countries in the competition. Today we look back at Armenia's impressive record in Junior Eurovision.

Arevik was Armenia's debut act in the 2007 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the song Erazanq which finished second. Armenia missed out on the top spot by only one point behind Belarus. What followed was a string of successes in the contest which saw Armenia finish in the top three an incredible seven times out of ten appearances.

Armenia has finished second a record four times including this year when Anahit and Mary represented the country with the song Tarber. In 2012 and 2014 the country finished third and in 2010 Armenia won the competition. The following year Junior Eurovision travelled to the capital Yerevan.

Armenia has never been outside of the top ten in Junior Eurovision and when the seven top three placings are taken into account, this makes it the most successful country overall in the competition. Check out some of the highlights from Armenia in the video below.
