Anahit & Mary
Anahit Adamyan and Mary Vardanyan will represent Armenia in the 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.Anahit is 13 years old and was born in Sochi, Russia but has a very strong connection to her motherland, Armenia. Anahit started singing when she was just 4 years old. Her professional career started in 2013, when she participated in the auditions of Russia’s The Voice Kids competition. Later Anahit took part in world famous composer Igor Krutoy’s “The battle of talents” show where she became one of the three finalists. Anahit’s biggest dream was to be a part of the Eurovision family, and this year her dream is coming true!
“I’m beyond happy to have a chance to represent my motherland in my favorite show – the Junior Eurovision! Me and Mary will do our best to impress everyone and make Armenians proud” says Anahit.
Mary is also 13 years old and was born in Vardenis, Armenia. She took her first steps into music back in 2011, when she started studying music at the Do-Re-Mi vocal school. She has participated in numerous music competitions, including the Renaissance International Music Festival, where she took the grand prix and the Friendship of Nations music competition, where she took first place.
“I have always dreamed of standing on the big Eurovision stage and performing for the huge audience. That day is almost here! We will do our best to present a great show and impress everyone” says Mary.
About the composers
Director and Vocal Coach Nick Egibyan is a singer, songwriter and music producer, born in 1987 in Yerevan, Armenia. After graduating as a pianist, he also studied as a music theorist. He has worked on more than 500 songs in several languages for both Armenian and international recording artists and shot more than 70 music videos. More recently Nick worked as a music producer on The Voice in Armenia, New Wave in 2012 and 2014 as well as several music numbers on The X Factor.
Avet Barseghyan is an Armenian songwriter and award-winning TV host as well as the honorary artist of Armenia. Since 2003 he has worked at Armenian Public Television as the host of programmes Krunk, Hot Ten and The First Programme. He has also hosted the quiz shows Khelk Khelki (Together We are More Intelligent) and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. In 2011 Avet presented the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and continues to host primetime shows today.
