Russian final set for 25 September

15 September 2015 at 13:47 CEST

Russia will choose its entry for Sofia on 25 September in a special national final live on Karusel, starting at 21:00 local time (20:00 CET). The finalists taking part in that show will be revealed by the broadcaster on 21 September (next Monday).

The vote to decide Russia's participant will be split into two; with the public having the option to vote for their favourites online on Karusel's website in the lead up to the show, and then a professional jury voting on the night of the show itself during the broadcast. These will be weighted equally at 50% each.

Russia previously used a national selection process to choose its Junior Eurovision entries until last year, when Alisa Kozhikina was chosen internally after winning The Voice Kids. The country has finished in the top five at Junior Eurovision for the past six years, and has never ended outside the top 10 in as many years in the competition.
