Russia chooses Tatyana Mezhentseva and Denberel Oorzhak
26 September 2019 at 11:30 CEST11 participants took the stage in Moscow, but after a strong victory in the online polls and jury votes, Tatyana Mezhentseva and Denberel Oorzhak took home the trophy at Russia's national selection show.
The duo will represent Russia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song A Time For Us, co-written by Tatyana herself. The outcome was decided through by 50% jury vote and 50% public online voting.
About Tatyana Mezhentseva
Tatyana Mezhentseva was born on 14 December 2009 in Moscow. Singing from the age of 4, she also spends her time on other creative endeavours, such as playing the piano and flute and participating in gymnastics and dance. She admits that she has dreamed of winning the Junior Eurovision Song Contest for some time.
About Denberel Oorzhak
Denberel Oorzhak was born on 3 June 2006, in the Republic of Tuva, Ak-Dovurak. He is the winner of the super season of the show You are Super! on channel NTV in Russia and the winner of the contest Children's New Wave. Denberel was raised by his grandmother who discovered his musical talents early on in life. In early 2019, Denberel moved to Kyzyl and began to study at a music studio.
Russia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest
Russia has participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 14 times since their debut in 2005. The country has won the contest 2 times: in 2006 with the Tolmachevy Twins, and again in 2017 when Polina Bogusevich took home the trophy with her song Wings. Last year, Anna Filipchuck represented Russia in Minsk with her song Unbreakable.
