Presidential visit for Destiny

24 November 2015 at 14:27 CET

Just three days since Destiny returned from Sofia, and this year's Junior Eurovision champion has already had a long list of engagements as Malta celebrates her winning the competition.

Yesterday, Destiny met Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat at his official office the Auberge de Castille. The Prime Miniater congratulated her, and also joked "We'll have to host it now" during the meeting.

Today, Destiny began the day by meeting Maltese President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca at her official residence. The President congratulated her and wished her "all the best in her success". Later Destiny also returned to school in Ħamrun where she was warmly welcomed back by hundreds of cheering and singing children. Headteacher Audrey Galea described Destiny as "a very good student who has managed to keep up both with her singing, which she takes very seriously, and her school work, which she has never neglected". The school presented Destiny with a special certificate to honour her Junior Eurovision win.

You can watch footage of Destiny returning to her school, including everyone singing her entry "Not my soul" together, on PBS' website: here.
