Another country has chosen today its representative for the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest! Tonight it was the turn of Russia, that had its National Final at the Luzhniki Arena.

The show was opened with a musical act and a common song, followed by the introduction of the jury and a short speech of the Executive Supervisor of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, Vladislav Yakovlev. Then, we could listen to the 18 performances.

The jury was composed by 7 members, including some well known names for Eurovision fans like Alisa Kozhikina (who represented Russia last year), Philipp Kirkorov (Eurovision composer and singer, represented Russia in 1995) and Julia Savicheva (represented Russia in 2004 at the adult ESC). Both Philipp and Julia performed during the interval act.

The winner song is called Мечта (dream) and it will be performed by Mikhail Smirnov, who is 12 years old. Mikhail won with 34 points, followed by Maria Mirova with 31 points and the duo Hikmatullina & Maneshina with 28 points. The winner was decided by a combination of jury voting (50%) and Internet voting on the TV channel website (50%).

Last year Alisa Kozhikina represented Russia in Malta and achieved a respectable 5th place with the song Dreamer.
