Today, the Host Broadcaster of the 2012 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, AVRO, and the European Broadcasting Union announced the contest will take place on the 1st of December at the HMH concert venue.

The arena is known for its excellent acoustics and the so-called black box concept. Its capacity is between 3000-4000 people. Tickets will go on sale in summer.

"We are very proud to host this international event, with talent at its heart, in the Netherlands this year. A great event deserves a great location!" Peter Lubbers, Media Director at AVRO commented.

And we have the hosts!

We also have the great opportunity to introduce you the hosts of the 2012 contest in Amsterdam.

It will be Kim-Lian van der Meij (hosted also the 2007 contest) and Ewout Genemans. Ewout has also hosted the Dutch national selection shows for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

"Just like in 2007, AVRO is bringing together an amazing group of talented people to produce the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. It is a tribute to the talent of young people and a celebration that brings the next generation of Europeans together under the Eurovision flag," says Sietse Bakker, Supervisor of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of the EBU.

The 2012 contest will be the 10th edition of the popular event. For the second time in its history, AVRO will be the Host Broadcaster.
