Italy names Vincenzo Cantiello as representative

Fourteen year old Vicenzo Cantiello has been announced by broadcaster RAI as Italy’s entrant in the 2014 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. His name was circulated by many local media in Italy several weeks ago, but today the national broadcaster officially submitted him to Junior Eurovision.

From the small town of Sant’Arpino in the Naples region, Vicenzo began singing in a church choice at a young age. He is most known in Italy for taking part in “Ti lascio una Canzone”, the most popular kids’ talent show in the country, broadcast during prime time on RAI1. 

Born on the 25th of August of 2000, Vincenzo comes from a small town called Sant’Arpino, in the region of Naples and , since he was a kid, he showed great interest and passion for music, starting to perform in the Church Choir.

Vicenzo is extremely enthusiastic about representing Italy in the forthcoming Junior Eurovision Song Contest and he has always been a fan of the show. He cannot wait to be in Malta and meet the other contestants coming for all the parts of Europe. You can watch a clip of him singing in “Ti lascio una Canzone” below:
