The finalists of the Dutch national selection for Junior Eurovision 2020 AVROTROS
On Saturday 26 September, the final of the Dutch national selection will take place at Rotterdam Ahoy, the venue of the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. Earlier this week, Dutch public broadcaster AVROTROS revealed the 4 competing songs. Let's get to know them and their artists!

The national selection final will be a little different from previous years, as, due to the COVID-19 restrictions in the Netherlands, it will go ahead without an audience. However, family members of the 11 finalists and hosts Buddy Vedder and Romy Monteiro will cheer them on during this exciting night. 4 acts will take the stage:

Unity

Girl group Unity consists of Naomi (13), Demi (14), Maud (14) and Jayda (13). They will perform the song Best Friends on 26 September.

Jayda has been part of Kinderen voor Kinderen, a Dutch children's choir, and has been dancing and singing since she was very young.

Demi won a platinum record when she was part of Kinderen voor Kinderen, went to theatre school when she was 6 and played Pippi Longstocking in a local musical.

Maud started guitar lessons when she was 8 and has since attended a music academy. She also took part in The Voice Kids in the Netherlands.

Naomi started playing in musicals when she was 7 and has been singing in church years now.

Jackie & Janae

Janae (12) and Jackie (13) will take the stage with the song It's You And Me.

Janae loves to sing with her mom. In 2017, they both took part in a show called Jij en in (You and I) in support of the Warchild charity and performed together in the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam.

Jackie is quite the musical talent, as she both sings and plays the piano and guitar. She is currently in singing class together with 2019 Dutch finalist Roxy, fellow 2020 finalist Robin, and 2018 Dutch finalist Mimi.

T-Square

Boys Thimo (12), Teddy (13), Thijs (13) and Tyrone (13) will travel to Rotterdam to perform their song Count On Me during the final.

The T-Square boys have quite an impressive career combined, as they have played in musicals like The Lion King, The Bodyguard, and High School Musical, and also voiced characters for Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Disney.

Robin

Robin (14) will take to the stage with 4 dancers to impress viewers at home as well as the jury. Dancing has always been a big part of her life, as she started at a very young age. Her favourite Junior Eurovision song is Adem In, Adem Uit by Lisa, Amy and Shelley. She loves the 3 girls as they have come so far already, participating in the Eurovision Song Contest as well.

Watch the live show on Saturday 26 September via NPO Zapp. In the meantime, follow the finalists on Instagram.
