With his song ‘Dans Met Jou', Matheu will represent the Netherlands. This is 'Going to Gliwice', our feature counting down to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 on Sunday 24 November in Gliwice-Silesia, Poland.

Matheu's song, Dans Met Jou, is an upbeat pop tune. Matheu: "My song is about me heading into the city with my friends, to hopefully meet up with the girl I really like, and to dance with her of course."

Dans Met Jou was written by Dieter Kranenburg and composed by Jermain van der Bogt and Willem Laseroms.

The 13-year-old singer will travel to Gliwice-Silesia, Poland to perform his song, and can't wait to do so at the big show. "I really can’t wait to give a great performance along with my dancers and to make the entire audience dance with us! That’s how we would love to Share the Joy."

Matheu's selection

Matheu won the final of the Dutch selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with 36 points; the final result is the sum of the verdict from 2 juries and a national televote. An act could receive 8, 9, 10 or 12 points and Matheu received 12 points from both juries and the televote, making him the unanimous winner of the Dutch national selection.

Stay tuned for the next feature participant in the Going to Gliwice series!
