You're not alone - Julia's message

05 November 2014 at 11:29 CET

Julia Kedhammar is 14 years old and lives in Skogås, outside Stockholm, and will represent Sweden in this years contest in Malta.

Julia's road to Malta

Everything started a few years ago when Julia performed a Michael Jackson song at school - this performance was filmed and uploaded on Youtube where a big record company saw it, and signed Julia to record a album with 20 children’s songs! Earlier this year Julia was among more than 1,000 kids who sent in a application for Lilla Melodifestivalen, the Swedish national selection for Junior Eurovision Song Contest, and she made it to the final.

About the song

”Du är inte ensam” is Julia's entry, and is translated as ”You are not alone”. She also had help from Thomas G:son, one of the composers of Eurovision winner "Euphoria", to write her song that won Lilla Melodifestivalen, and gave Julia the ticket to Malta.

The song sends out a message to people that there is always someone out there for all of us, and that we are not alone although we may feel so. Her song will be performed entirely in Swedish. In English, the chorus is as folows:

There is always someone out there for you

You are not alone

you are not alone

On stage

Julias performance on stage in Malta will be inspired by a beach club theme, with lots of warm colours. She will perform together with four backing dancers, and the performance will also include some cool light effects to impress the audience!
