Sietse Bakker to supervise Junior Eurovision Song Contest

Jørgen Franck, TV Director ad interim at the European Broadcasting Union, says: "The Junior Eurovision Song Contest is true family entertainment, but with a young twist. It was a logic step to appoint a young and experienced supervisor for this project."

"The Junior Eurovision Song Contest is a great event! At the same time, it faces challenges due to the budget cuts that public broadcasters all over Europe have to make. Together with the event's Steering Group I am looking forward to find solutions for these challenges and take the contest to a new level," says the newly appointed supervisor of the contest.

Bakker has been involved with the Eurovision Song Contest for ten years, first as editor-in-chief of the largest fan site, then at the EBU as Project Manager Internet (2006) and Manager Communications & PR (2008).

He will work closely with Jon Ola Sand, the newly appointed Executive Supervisor for the adult Eurovision Song Contest, to facilitate the TV production.

This year, the Junior Eurovision Song Contest was held on the 20th of November in Minsk and was won by Vladimir Arzumanyan from Armenia with the song Mama.
