More rehearsals for the 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest are taking place in Valletta today and Serbia is one of the countries on stage at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in this second round. Their singer is Dunja Jeličić who performs her song U La La La on a hoverboard!

Dunja showed interest in music as a child, singing and dancing to every tone and rhythm of music that she heard. Her favourite performers include Beyoncé and Ariana Grande. At the age of six she became a member of a children’s choir where she also performed as a soloist. Dunja was a contestant in a couple of talent shows for children in Serbia and more recently she has taken part in, and won, several music festivals. Besides elementary school she also attends piano lessons at the music school and is preparing to take one of the lead roles in a musical based on the life of Nikola Tesla.

After her second rehearsal Dunja told us a bit about her feelings: "At the beginning I felt excited and now I feel confident about the stage because it’s my second time here and on the hoverboard it’s not hard, it’s easy to sing, and then I go down and everything is fun… I’m having so much fun on stage and I really like it! My expectations are to have fun and for me to be as less nervous as possible".

Dunja is enjoying every minute of her Junior Eurovision experience: "really everything, from the show to Malta and these wonderful people that are so nice to me. Also the stage and the lights and the big crowd I really love it!" And what about the other kids? "When we were practicing the common song I had time to meet almost all of the competitors and I made a lot of friends and I’m really glad I could have an opportunity like this".
