03 December 2016 at 09:00 CET
This year Russia was represented in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest by the Water of Life Project. The group was specifically created for the 2016 competition. Let's look back at their week in Valletta.

The Water of Life Project consists of lead vocalist Sofia Fisenko, Sasha Abrameytseva and sisters Christina and Madonna Abramova. Throughout the week of rehearsals the girls looked relaxed as they perfected their routine of their entry Water Of Life. At the opening ceremony of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest Sofia revealed that she would like to go into film making one day, in addition to singing. Check out the highlights of the week below.

Russia is one of the most successful countries in Junior Eurovision having never placed outside the top ten since they first began participating in 2005. The Tolmachevy Sisters won the contest in 2006 and the country has finished second twice. Russia hold the record of finishing fourth more times than any other country, four times in total, including three consecutive occasions between 2011 and 2013. True to form, the Water of Life Project finished fourth in 2016 with the song Water Of Life. Watch the live performance in the video below.
