Bulgaria's representative in the 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, Lidia Ganeva, was greeted by crowds of well-wishers when she returned home from the contest. The young singer, who has now become a star, represented Bulgaria with her song Magical Day (Вълшебен ден). The first morning after her arrival back in Bulgaria, Lidia appeared on Bulgarian National Television's biggest morning show and in just a few days the young singer will travel to Lapland to meet Santa Claus himself! A crew from BNT will follow her journey and the special programme will be broadcast on Christmas Day as part of Bulgarian National Television's coverage of the festive period. Lidia's song, Magical Day (Вълшебен ден), placed ninth in the competition on Sunday which saw the top ten countries separated by only a handful of points. Magical Day (Вълшебен ден) was written by Vladimir "Grafa" Ampov, an artist, performer, producer and composer and one of the most successful and popular Bulgarian pop singers today.
Poli Genova, who presented Junior Eurovision last year when it was hosted in Sofia, Bulgaria, also appeared during the show which was broadcast live from Malta. Poli performed her entry for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, If Love Was A Crime, which finished fourth in the Grand Final, providing Bulgaria with its best ever placing in the competition.
