Krisia, Hasan and Ibrahim given heroes welcome
19 November 2014 at 18:07 CETOn arrival at Sofia Airport, the Bulgarian delegation was greeted by a live broadcast from BNT – with the children being interviewed and presented with flowers from BNT Director Viara Ankova. 400,000 people tunied in to see the children return home.
Straight after leaving the airport, the entire delegation went to a special television show called "Bulgaria welcomes Krisia, Hasan & Ibrahim", hosted by Dragomir Draganov and Mira Dobreva on BNT and Petya Dikova on behalf of bTV. Joana Levieva-Sawyer and Simeon Kasabov, key members of the delelgation in Malta, were also guests in the studio and shared their impressions of Junior Eurovision 2014. "The show was really spectacular and PBS did an amazing job. That BNT and bTV worked together on this was an amazing success," they said.
On Sunday night the three children went to bTV’s studios, where they were special guests on ‘The Voice of Bulgaria’. Krisia, Hasan and Ibrahim received a standing ovation from the audience.
On Monday morning the children were were presented with a special "Order of Honour" for their 2014 JESC achievements by the President of Bulgaria, Rosen Plevneliev. The following day, Tuesday, they also visited the Bulgarian Parliament as invited guests, where they recieved a standing ovation from the MPs. Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tsetska Tsacheva said: “Dear children, thank you that with you performance you did something that we, the politicians, find hard to do - you made Bulgarians feel more happy and united. Thank you for that!”
In the afternoon Krisia went back to her home town Razgrad, where she was welcomed by the mayor of the city. Krisia, her mother and her vocal coach, Svilena Decheva, were welcomed in the city concil.
Hasan & Ibrahim also went in their home town of Shumen. The talanted twins will recieve the honour from the mayor. Back home they were welcomed with a sweet surprise by their sisters Nermin & Merlin, who are also twins.
Huge ratings success in Bulgaria
This year’s Junior Eurovision was a great succes for Bulgarian National Television. It was the most watched show on Saturday with 40% share and over one milion viewers – setting a new record!
