Countdown to Tbilisi: Songs from Sweden

11 September 2017 at 19:08 CEST
Sweden participated in the very first Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003 and with the exception of 2008, appeared every year until 2014. Today we look back at their Junior Eurovision entries from over the years.

Sweden is one of the most successful countries in the Eurovision Song Contest but that hasn't necessarily translated into success at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Sweden finished 15th in the first three editions of Junior Eurovision but did go on to score a top three placing in 2006 when Molly Sandén participated. Molly has gone on to have a successful career in Sweden and even entered the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, Melodifestivalen

Over the years Sweden's results improved and the country finished in the top 10 on five out of seven occasions. Sweden withdrew after the 2014 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, when they were represented by Julia Kedhammar, but the door is always open for them to return in the future. In the meantime you can enjoy Sweden's contributions to Junior Eurovision over the years - check out the video below!
