Sofia is a talented singer who knows what she wants! The Russian sensation recently spoke with us ahead of her big performance so she could share with you a bit more about her life. Let's find out everything from her favourite word to the lessons she's learnt from the many concerts and performances she's already had in her young life!

What is your favourite word in Russian and what is your favourite word in English?

My favourite Russian word is 'люблю' / lyublyu which means 'love' in English. My favourite English word is 'world'!

What is your favourite traditional Russian food?

I really love to eat Blini which is like a pancake and I enjoy it with chocolate, of course!

What is your favourite thing to do in St Petersburg?

I really enjoy going to the park and walking with my friends.

Other than singing, what else did you learn at music school?

Many cool things such as acting, choreography, solfeggio and music literature!

You also play the piano! What is your favourite piece to play?

My favourite piece to play is DeD Moroz (Santa Claus) composed by Schumann.

You have performed in many concerts and competitions already. What have you learnt from these experiences?

That I have to practice my number many times before my performance so I can perform confidently and enjoy taking the stage!

Your idol is Polina Gagarina. If you could sing a song with her what one would you choose?

It would be a dream come true! I would like to sing A Million Voices or Kukushka (Cuckoo) with her!

Nice choices! If you could spend 24 hours with her what would you do?

I would go to the movies with Polina, maybe cook her favourite dish for her, talk about creativity and of course, sing with her!

What's happening here?

Sofia gives us the details behind some of her Instagram photos!

Here I am on the Morning Children's Show called "Good Morning, kids" with the puppet, Krusha!

This is me in my stage outfit before I performed at a show dedicated to Maslenitsa.

In these series of photos you can see it is winter time! I am at our country house and I am playing with my dog, Johnny! This was such a snowy winter!

Sofia fills in the gaps!

We played a game where Sofia had to 'fill the gaps' in our sentences. Let's find out what she had to say!

The 3 words that best describe my personality are: charming, friendly and creative!

The 3 words that best describe my song and performance are: kindness, fairytale and musical!

You might not know that I am pretty good at: drawing!

But I wish I was better at: playing the piano.

This year has been a difficult one for everyone, but 2020 has taught me that: everyone needs to take care of their health and look after themselves.

The advice I would give anyone wanting to participate in JESC is: to be strong! I wish everyone the best of luck!

The JESC is so special to me because: it allows me to share my creativity to the audience.

I am most looking forward to: the final of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 on 29 November!

Sofia is getting ready to Move The World with her performance of My New Day on Sunday 29 November so get inspired by her favourite English word and share her some love!
