First semi-final: 2nd June 2016 20:00 CEST
15 acts will battle for one of ten places in the next round. The voting will be decided solely by the juries. According to Bulgaria's national broadcaster, BNT, these changes have been introduced to align with the format of the 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest which will also have 100% jury voting. All acts will perform in Bulgarian. The songs could be either covers of popular Bulgarian songs or written especially for the artist. Two or more artists are allowed to perform the same song in this semi-final.
Second semi-final: 8th June 2016 20:00 CEST
The top 10 acts from the previous round will compete for a place in the final. The jury will have once again the full power to decide who will proceed to the final of the selection. This time all the participants have the freedom to choose the language of the song, bilingual songs are also allowed. The top five will then proceed to the final.
Final: 11th June 2016 20:30 CEST
The five finalists will each perform two songs; one of which has to be in Bulgarian. Both songs can be the same from the previous rounds. This time there will be televoting which will decide 50% of the final outcome with the jury deciding the other 50%. The winner will be the act who has received the highest amount of points in total and will represent Bulgaria in the 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Malta.
