What MIKA did next...

07 January 2016 at 12:54 CET

Armenia has taken home a trophy in both of the last two Junior Eurovision competitions - Betty finished third in Malta, while this year in Bulgaria MIKA finished as runner up. We caught up with the guy otherwise known as Michael Varosyan to see how he's been since leaving Sofia.

MIKA's homecoming...

"When the plane landed in Yerevan, I was very excited to be finally back. When I got out, I realised that my song “Love” was playing all over the airport. My family, friends and fans all gathered to welcome me home and congratulate me. I got a lot of presents and flowers - I’m very thankful to have all of these people in my life."

First day back at school...

"Actually, my classmates and friends from school, as well as some of my teachers welcomed me at the airport. The next day I had a little ‘’welcome party’’ in my class, where me and my friends had a lot of fun. Everybody congratulated me with my result, and I was really happy."

Memories of Junior Eurovision 2015...

Probably the most memorable moment was when my name was announced, saying that I took the second place. I was truly excited and proud of myself. I often remember my new friends from Junior Eurovision. We had a great time together.

I'll sum it up with one word: unforgettable!!!

What next...

I’m taking care of my classes now, as I had to skip school sometimes during the contest. I recently got two new awards, including one for my song “Love” as the best song of the year.  Currently I’m participating in different concerts and projects, and I’m also thinking on releasing new songs and music videos in the future.
