What Aimee Banks did next...

20 January 2016 at 14:32 CET

Winning that show was Aimee Banks, whose operatic voice won over the judges. In Sofia, Aimee and the rest of the Irish delegation never stopped smiling for a moment as the week went on! We caught up with Aimee to find out how everything has been since she returned home.

Aimee's homecoming...

"When I came home it was really exciting, my family at home haven't stopped celebrating. The town where I live had a welcome home party, where I sang "Réalta na Mara" and they presented me with a bouquet of flowers.

First day back at school...

"Everyone at school was so excited to hear all about it, where we had been and what it was like. They were all really happy for me. It was all they wanted to talk about for weeks.

Memories of Junior Eurovision 2015...

"Meeting all my new friends that I'm still in touch with, the feeling I had when I walked out on the huge stage. It felt amazing! The welcoming that we had at the airport, the tour bus, all the interviews, the whole delegation, the laughs with Garrett, the hotel, getting hair and make-up done, my own dressing room where we hung an Ireland Flag which everyone signed and is hanging up in my bedroom, just everything about it!"

JESC was an incredible experience and honour to be apart of

What next...?

"Well I'm not long back from New York where I performed in Carnegie Hall!! I sang with the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland in the Convention centre in Dublin for members of our Government, in the next few months I'm singing with The Three Tenors - Ireland, and I'm flying to Boston in April to perform!"
