Victoria Nicole releases 'Esperança' for Portugal

Victoria Nicole earned the opportunity to represent Portugal at Madrid 2024 after winning the latest series of The Voice Kids Portugal, during the summer.

The young artist was born in Venezuela and now lives with her parents and her dog in Portugal. Victoria's dream has always been to become a professional singer. She started singing when she was 5 years old, listening to the Swedish pop group ABBA and memorising the songs so she could sing them herself.

As well as singing, Victoria is a big fan of writing songs; she says that she feels free when she's songwriting. The talented musician has also been playing the piano for 5 years, as well as the ukelele for two years.

Victoria wrote her Junior Eurovision song Esperança, with music production and direction by Nininho Vaz Maia, Bárbara Tinoco and Feodor Bivol.

Madrid 2024 will be Portugal's 9th appearance at Junior Eurovision, since its debut in 2006.

Portugal's best result so far came at the 2022 Contest, courtesy of Nicolas Alves. His rock anthem Anos 70 finished in 8th place.
