After a week of rehearsals, participants from 17 countries took to the stage to represent their respective countries in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The 2015 edition of Junior Eurovision was hosted by Poli Genova who represented Bulgaria in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 with the song Na Inat. Poli also performed during the interval of Junior Eurovision 2015 and earlier this year she represented Bulgaria again in the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm. Poli achieved Bulgaria's best ever placing, 4th, with her song If Love Was A Crime.
Two countries made their debuts in 2015; Australia and Ireland. Australia also participated in the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 2015 and Ireland was represented by an Irish language song. It was the first time since 2007 that 17 countries took part in the contest.
After all the songs had been performed Krisia, Hasan & Ibrahim, who achieved Bulgaria's best ever Junior Eurovision placing, second, in 2014, took to the stage to perform their song Planet of the Children. Right before the end of the voting, the winner of Junior Eurovision 2014, Italy's Vincenzo Cantiello performed his song Tu primo grande amore. The winner was decided by a 50/50 split between juries and televoting. Malta's Destiny took an early lead and won the contest with her song Not My Soul and brought the competition back to Valletta for the second time in three years.
The 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Valletta, Malta on Sunday 20th November.
