National broadcaster RTVSLO has signed the necessary documents to officially confirm that they will take part in this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest, to be held in Malta on 15 November. Last month, Executive Supervisor Vladislav Yakovlev travelled to Ljubljana to meet the broadcaster, which fuelled rumours on social media about their participation.

“I took a break from my holiday in Croatia to visit RTVSLO at their offices” explained Vladislav. “It was an opportunity that I couldn’t miss, to present Junior Eurovision and the 2014 concept to some very key figures at Slovenian television. I’m thrilled that, today, we can reveal they’ve decided to join!”

"We believe that this is good news and will offer Slovenian viewers a first-class children's festival, and magnificent show in which they will be rooting for their favorite" added Mario Galunič, Head of Entertainment at RTVSLO.

RTVSLO will select the singer and song internally, with both the Entertainment and Children's Departments working together on the selection.

RTVSLO follows RAI Gulp (Italy) and RTCG (Montenegro) in making their debut at Junior Eurovision 2014.

With 14 countries now confirmed, Junior Eurovision 2014 is set to feature the most participants since Minsk in 2010 - and there may yet be more to come!
