Stay Tuned are coming at Junior Eurovision 2024 with catchy pop song ‘Music,’ ready to represent the Netherlands in Madrid.

What have One Direction, Fifth Harmony, and Little Mix got in common with the Netherlands’ Junior Eurovision 2024 entry? You’ve got it. They all auditioned in talent contests as solo artists, then were put together as groups.

Stay Tuned is made up of Chiara, Inkar, Niek, and Miucha, who all entered the Netherlands’ national selection Junior Songfestival as individuals, before their band was formed. When they took to the grand final as Stay Tuned with their song Music, they came out on top and won the golden ticket to Madrid.

This song is all about how the youngsters connect with music. They believe songs bring people together and that everyone understands the language of music.

Music was written by Dutch musicians Willem Laseroms and Jermain van der Bogt. Jerman is also known as Wudstik and is the vocalist in bands including Dilemma.

Willem and Jermain have a strong history in the Contest. They co-wrote the music for the Netherlands’ 2019 entry from Matheu, Dans Met Jou, which finished in 4th place, as well as plenty of other songs that have featured in the Netherlands’ national finals.

Willem was also part of the team that wrote Rachel’s unforgettable bop Teenager, which not only finished 2nd for the Netherlands in the 2011 Contest, but also featured some of the best scaffolding seen on the Junior Eurovision stage.

Chiara loves performing in musicals, and has taken on leading roles in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (as the famously demanding Veruca Salt) and Dutch family comedy Pietje Bell. She’s also a big football fan, and can often be found in the stands cheering on her club, Feyenoord.

Inkar was born in Kazakhstan and now lives with her mother in Amsterdam. She’s used to performing in front of big crowds, after being a member of the famous Dutch children’s choir Kinderen voor Kinderen. The choir has released an album every year since 1980 — although of course Inkar hasn’t been involved for that long, unless she’s looking exceptionally young for her age.

Kinderen voor Kinderen has had plenty of famous names in it over the years, including Greek-Dutch singer Stefania Liberakakis, who represented the Netherlands in Junior Eurovision 2016 with the band Kisses. She was then set to represent Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song SUPERG!RL, before the Contest was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. She returned for the 2021 Contest with Last Dance, finishing in 10th place.

Niek loves being on stage and entertaining audiences, and plays in his school band. In his free time, he’s either practising the piano or playing hockey.

Miucha has been performing since she was very young too, and took to the stage for the first time when she was 8 years old. She had a very special 10th birthday, as she took part in The Voice Kids, before she went on to perform in another TV show, Mini Stars

Stay Tuned are dancing their way to Madrid, but perhaps with a little too much enthusiasm. During rehearsals, Miucha fell in the rehearsal room and fractured her foot. She’s now resting up and working hard on being ready for Madrid. We’re all wishing you a speedy recovery, Miucha!
