Nicole Nicolaou has been chosen to represent Cyprus at the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Her song, I Wanna Be A Star, was written by Constantinos Christoforou and is about young people that need to believe in themselves for anything they want to achieve. Antigoni Tasouri is responsible for the staging of the song. The entry will be released in the coming weeks.

Nicole was born in Limassol in 2004 and speaks fluent Greek, English, Russian and has started to learn French.  She won the 6th Annual Talent Show organised by Limassol Theatre Art School in 2016. Nicole has attended vocal lessons with Aliki Chrysochou for the past four years and she has played the piano for the last two years.

In addition to singing, Nicole also has artistic tendencies and has plenty of canvas drawings, which she started drawing at the age of four. She enjoys sports and never misses the opportunity to go wakeboarding and hiking. Nicole is an animal lover and has a cat, two dogs, a hamster and a little bunny.

"This is such an honour for me to represent Cyprus in Junior Eurovision 2017 where kids from so many countries come together to share a common dream, sing and perform. My inspiration is my family, my friends, my everyday life and activities," she said.

Last year George Michaelides represented Cyprus at Junior Eurovision with the song Dance Floor.
