18 July 2014 at 19:06 CEST

Today the paperwork for participating in Junior Eurovision 2014 was received from Montenegro! National broadcaster Radioi Televizija Crne Gore has signed the necessary forms meaning that Montenegro will debut at this year’s competition in Malta.

Montenegro previously participated as part of the union of Serbia and Montenegro in Junior Eurovision 2005, however this will be their first entry as an independent nation.

“I’d like to welcome Montenegro to the Junior Eurovision family,” says Executive Supervisor Vladislav Yakovlev. “They qualified to the Eurovision Song Contest final for the first time this year, and I hope they will also enjoy the experience of participating in Junior Eurovision as well.”

Details concerning how the singer and song will be chosen will be communicated by RTCG at a later date.

Montenegro are the second country to join the competition this year, after Italy also announced their participation.
