Meet Timur - your host for Kyiv 2009!

27 October 2009 at 16:53 CET

Timur was born in 1986 in Kyiv, Ukraine and while every boy was dreaming about becoming an astronaut, he wanted to become a service man for traffic lights!

He was the first student president of his high school, acted in the school’s theatre, KVN humour shows, and hosted the school’s other events.

After school he entered National Aviation University, Department of Psychology. His stage life continued at the university, too. During one of the concerts he was singled out by the producer of the Ukrainian broadcaster NTU, who invited him to work on TV.

Twelve Eurovision events!

Since September 2005 he's been working as a presenter on the main TV channel of the country. At the time he hosted a live talkshow Studio 5. Within a few months he already commented for Ukraine at his first Eurovision event - the 2005 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Hasselt, Belgium!

Since then he's visited and worked at twelve Eurovision contests, as a commentator, host of the national selections, Eurovision Song Contest Countdown Shows presenter and a TV-journalist.

Apart from Eurovision events, he's hosted dozens of festivals, hundreds of concerts and sport events.

He'll be your host on the 21st of November when the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Kyiv. You can read about the female host in our article about Ani Lorak, about Dmytro in our 'Meet Dmytro' article and the rest of the hosts in our hosts' article!
