Meet the hosts of Junior Eurovision 2017!

Helen Kalandadze will host the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest alongside Lizi Japaridze, also known as Lizi Pop! It is the first time that Junior Eurovision will feature a host under the age of 16. Helen previously participated in the Eurovision Song Contest whilst Lizi represented Georgia in Junior Eurovision in 2014.

Get to know Helen

Helen Kalandadze was born in Tbilisi, Georgia. She participated in the reality TV show Star Academy in 2009 and started working in the world of broadcasting soon after. In 2010 she participated in the Eurovision Song Contest as a backing singer for Georgian Singer Sofia Nijaradze with her song Shine. In 2011 she graduated from the Faculty of Business Administration and Tourism Management at Ilia University.

In 2013, Helen won the singing competition Your Face Sounds Familiar and that same year she established the Teen Club Studio alongside her friends Sopho Toroshelidze and Nina Tsitlauri. The studio provides as a place where teenagers can play instruments, study, undertake vocal training and participate in choreography classes. 

Alongside television presenting, Helen was also the music producer of the singing contest Keep Your Light Shining. Helen continues to make music and performs with her band.

Get to know Lizi

Lizi (Pop) Japaridze was born in Tbilisi in September 2004. At the age of four she began studying at the International School of Georgia. She represented Georgia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the song Happy Day. The video for the song is the most popular clip on the official Junior Eurovision Song Contest channel on YouTube!

In 2016 Lizi started studying at the French School of the Caucasus. She speaks fluent Georgian, Russian, English and French and if that wasn't enough, she has just started to learn Spanish!

Lizi is a YouTube star and creates her own video clips in addition to participating in TV shows and performing at concerts. She is also active in various sports and works with numerous charities and has an interest in human and animal rights.
