Malta announces their Junior Eurovision 2019 artist: Eliana Gomez Blanco

The 14-year-old Eliana will represent Malta at the 2019 Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Gliwice-Silesia. Singers Leah Cauchi and Martina Cutajar classified in second and third place respectively.

Eliana was chosen from a group of 12 male and female singers. The young artists performed their songs and showed their musical talents in front of the judges, composed of Claudia Faniello, Ela Mangion and Deo Grech. 50% of the votes came from online voting and the other 50% was given by the judges.

The next step for the Maltese delegation will be the selection of the song which Eliana will be singing in Poland.

About Eliana

Eliana is a resident singer on a local TV program and has represented Malta in multiple international festivals in which she achieved great results. She won the ‘Għanja Tal-Poplu Żgħażagħ 2018 as a duet with the song Dwell. In the same year she was also a finalist in the Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Besides singing, Eliana loves to read and is currently also working hard at school to pursue her dream in becoming a doctor. She is also passionate about hairdressing and will be sitting for her final exam in September.

Eliana believes that one of the most important things in life is that you should "Always stay true to your own values and don’t be influenced by others".
