Junior kicks off: Russia picks Katya for Yerevan

03 June 2011 at 12:38 CEST

The thirteen-year-old Ekaterina or Katya in short, already represented Russia once at the contest, in 2009 with a song that placed second, Malenky Prints.

This year, she decided to take part again the Russian selection and did it again - won the right to represent her homeland!

It wasn't easy for her, though, as she had to beat other 19 young stars to get that right but did so in the end and now she'll perform her follow-up song for her 2009 entry, Kak Romeo I Dzhulyetta (Like Romeo And Juliet). Congratulations!

The 9th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held on the 3rd of December in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia.
